Kansas City Chiefs
OG Trey Smith: The Chiefs are making moves to reinforce the protection around quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Tagging Smith keeps one of their top blockers with the team.
Wide Receiver: Marquise Brown
Projected Contract: 2 Years, $15.9 million
Wide receiver salaries have skyrocketed, and this year's elite free agents are positioned to cash in. Spotrac predicts Darius Slayton from the New York Giants could land a deal worth over $15 million annually, despite the fact he doesn't have the star power of Ja’Marr Chase.
Marquise Brown’s 2024 season was forgettable due to a shoulder injury, which limited him to just two games and 91 receiving yards. However, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that the Chiefs still have a keen interest in resigning the 27-year-old.
It's important to note that other teams may also pursue him.
“The Chiefs are eager to retain receiver Hollywood Brown, who will likely attract attention due to teams seeking speedy options on the outside," Fowler stated. “Mahomes supported the signing of Brown last year and is likely to do so again. There’s speculation that another star quarterback might also be interested in Brown.”
2025 NFL Writers’ Mock Draft: Browns Take QB at No. 2; Three Receivers Go Top 10 | FOX Sports
31. Kansas City Chiefs: Josh Simmons, OL, Ohio State
Simmons fell in the draft due to a knee injury; otherwise, he could have been in contention for the top tackle position. The Chiefs might look to provide more time for Kingsley Suamataia, their 2024 second-round pick, but given the uncertainty at that spot, they can't afford another season of struggles. The left tackle position was a major factor in their Super Bowl loss, and they need to address it once again. Drafting Simmons could be an ideal solution.

Possible Fits
The Panthers worked hard in 2024 to build a solid offensive unit. With rookie quarterback Bryce Young thriving behind an improved offensive line, it’s time to pivot towards reinforcing the defense. Although the front seven remains a top priority, help in the secondary could be beneficial. Justin Reid may not be the highest-paid free agent, but he’ll likely fetch a nice contract. The Panthers are reportedly equipped with $29.8 million in cap space, making it feasible for them to sign Reid while still also improving their defensive line.

Jaguars plan to release Christian Kirk | NBC Sports
The Jaguars are set to part ways with Kirk, as reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.
This decision will allow Jacksonville to save over $10 million in salary cap space. Kirk was entering the final season of a lucrative four-year, $72 million contract signed in 2022.
During his inaugural season in Jacksonville, Kirk met expectations by starting all 17 games and achieving career-highs in receptions (84), yards (1,108), and touchdowns (eight). However, his production dropped dramatically following that season, as he played in only eight games last year, collecting merely 27 catches for 379 yards and a single touchdown.
The Raiders announced a multi-year extension for Crosby, reportedly worth $106.5 million over three years with $91.5 million guaranteed. This contract designates him as the highest-paid non-quarterback player in the league, according to NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.
“Today’s a significant day,” Crosby shared during his news conference following the signing. “Being part of Raider Nation for almost seven years has been a remarkable blessing. My family, my wife, and my daughter are all here. The commitment to excellence every day is what this is all about. I’m focused on being the best version of myself and giving everything I have.”
Chargers Release Five-Time Pro Bowler Joey Bosa | ESPN
The Chargers have released outside linebacker Joey Bosa as of last night, marking the end of an era for one of their greatest players.
This move saves the franchise $25.36 million in cap space.
Bosa was drafted third overall by the Chargers in 2016 and ranks second in franchise history with 72 career sacks, trailing only Leslie O’Neal (105.5).
Seahawks Releasing Franchise-Great WR Tyler Lockett | ESPN
