2025 NFL Draft: Mel Kiper's Winners and Losers from Rounds 2-3 | ESPN
Notable Picks I Questioned in Rounds 2-3
It caught me off guard to see the Chiefs select Omarr Norman-Lott, way down on my ranking list at No. 63. He barely made it into my top 150, sitting at No. 142 overall. Norman-Lott only started five of his 45 career games. While he has some potential as a pass rusher (with 4.5 sacks from inside), I’m puzzled by what the team found appealing about his value here. This confusion is amplified, given that Darius Alexander was still available and ranked over 100 spots higher on my list.
63. Chiefs: Omarr Norman-Lott, DT, Tennessee
Grade: A
Norman-Lott is a specialized pass-rusher on the interior who showcases better athleticism than his underwhelming workout might suggest. He needs to polish his run defense when faced with stronger players, but his agility enables him to navigate the line of scrimmage effectively. Although his college snap volume was limited, he provides Kansas City with another interior disruptor in addition to Chris Jones.
2025 NFL Draft: Key Stat for All 32 First-Round Picks | FOX Sports
Josh Simmons: He becomes the fourth Ohio State player chosen in the first round, marking the first occurrence for the Buckeyes since 2016, when they had five players drafted, and just the fourth instance in the common draft era.
2025 NFL Draft: Grades for Every Day 2 Pick | PFF
66. Kansas City Chiefs (from Titans): EDGE Ashton Gillotte, Louisville
Pick Grade: Below Average
The Chiefs have strengthened their trenches through their first three picks. Gillotte is a competent pass rusher, having earned an impressive 89.9 pass-rush grade in 2024. He is also reliable in run defense, posting grades of 84.8 and 78.0 over the past two seasons.
2025 NFL Draft: Pick-by-Pick Analysis for Day 2 | NFL.com
66 - Kansas City Chiefs (from TEN)
Ashton Gillotte, Louisville · Edge
Gillotte astounded many at his pro day, clocking in a 4.65-second 40-yard dash and a 6.94 three-cone drill while weighing 264 pounds. He’s a dynamic playmaker whose performance dipped in 2024, potentially hurting his chances of breaking into the top 50 picks.
85. Chiefs: Nohl Williams, CB, California
Grade: C+
An older but seasoned outside cornerback with natural athletic ability to make plays on the ball. While not an elite ballhawk, he usually positions himself well near the catch point. His tackling can be erratic, but he brings solid man-coverage skills, which likely caught the attention of the team. Speed and fluidity are average for a corner. There was a slight overpayment for the trade-up.

Derrick Harmon’s Mother Passes Post-Draft | ESPN
Tiffany Saine, the mother of Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Derrick Harmon, passed away on Thursday night shortly after her son was selected at No. 21 in the NFL draft.
Saine had suffered a stroke in 2022 that left her paralyzed on one side. While Harmon celebrated his draft selection surrounded by family in Detroit, she remained on life support.
“On behalf of the entire Pittsburgh Steelers organization, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Derrick and his family during this challenging time,” said Steelers president Art Rooney II in a statement.
“Though we’re thrilled to select Derrick, our hearts are filled with sorrow for the loss of his mother, Tiffany. We will stand by Derrick and his family in every possible way as he goes through this period of mourning. In times like this, we hope Derrick finds comfort in the community and support from our fans everywhere.”
Shedeur Sanders Continues to Wait After Round 3 | ESPN
The former Colorado quarterback’s fall from withering expectations shocked many observers.
After day one, his situation took a surprising turn for the worse.
Considered one of the top quarterback prospects of the draft, Sanders is astonishingly still on the board as we approach the fourth round.
After witnessing the New York Giants trade up to No. 25 for Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart, Sanders had to process the selections of Tyler Shough by the New Orleans Saints, Jalen Milroe by the Seattle Seahawks, and Dillon Gabriel by the Cleveland Browns.

Chiefs Draft: DT Omarr Norman-Lott Expected to be a Key Rotational Player
“We effectively restructured our priorities today,” Kansas City director of player personnel Mike Brady noted. “It was clear these players were ranked quite highly. We saw an opportunity to grab them consecutively. In this game, it's essential to stockpile talent.”
According to Brady, the team was pleased with the turn of events.
“We were uncertain how the second round would unfold, but we were pleasantly surprised — and truly excited — that both players remained available.”
Brady remarked on Norman-Lott's potential impact, describing him as an athletic player who will fit well within the team dynamic.
“He’s agility-rich, and he disrupts plays effectively,” Brady stated. “He’s a talented interior rusher, as observed during both game footage and at the Senior Bowl. We brought him in for a visit. His personality is vibrant, and I believe he will bond well with the team.”
