CFL Offensive Line Rankings: Week 4 Breakdown

As we stride into Week 4 of the CFL season, the performance of offensive lines has already become a vital aspect shaping each team's journey. From opening gaps for running backs to providing crucial protection for quarterbacks, the strength of the trenches is evident across the league.

Let’s dive into how each offensive line ranks heading into the next phase, spotlighting units that are excelling and those in need of improvement. 📊🏈

1. Calgary Stampeders (Up 1)

Starting Lineup:

  • LT D’Antne Demery
  • LG Zack Williams
  • C Christopher Fortin
  • RG Christy Nkanu
  • RT Joshua Coker

The Calgary Stampeders have claimed the top spot, boasting the best offensive line at this early stage in the 2025 season. Remarkably, they are the sole unit having achieved pass-blocking grades above 60.0 in every game so far, with scores of 62.0, 69.2, and 68.6.

In Week 3, the Stampeders' performance truly shined, featuring three starters earning grades above 66.0: Joshua Coker (72.2), Bryce Williams (67.4), and Tyson Fortin (66.5). Fortin even took the title as the highest-graded center in the league for the week! 🏆

With consistent performances from Fortin (72.4) and Williams (66.0), they are well on their way to being recognized as all-stars in the West Division.

2. Saskatchewan Roughriders (Down 1)

Starting Lineup:

  • LT Daniel Johnson
  • LG Trevon Tate
  • C Logan Ferland
  • RG Jacob Brammer
  • RT Jermarcus Hardrick

The Roughriders experienced a challenging week. While Jermarcus Hardrick distinguished himself with an impressive PFF grade of 75.4 in Week 3, the remaining linemen fell below the 60.0 mark.

Following two weeks of solid performances with pass-blocking grades above 70.0, their score dipped to 45.5, allowing an unsettling 22.2% pressure rate. Nonetheless, Hardrick remains a standout performer, currently leading all offensive linemen with an overall grade of 79.7. He’s certainly a favorite for the league's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman award this season! 🌟

3. Montreal Alouettes (Up 1)

Starting Lineup:

  • LT Des Holmes
  • LG Pier-Olivier Lestage
  • C Justin Lawrence
  • RG Donald Ventrelli
  • RT Jamar McGloster

The Alouettes made a significant leap this week, ranking third after showcasing a remarkable turnaround in their performance. With the lowest pressure rate in the league at just 17.1% on 35 pass-blocking snaps, they excelled in protecting their quarterback.

Right tackle Jamar McGloster revitalized his game, earning a PFF grade of 68.0. Additionally, rookie left tackle Des Holmes stepped in admirably for All-Star Nick Callender, posting a commendable grade of 70.9. Left guard Pier-Olivier Lestage fortified his status, graded as the best guard in the CFL this week! Look out for these talents as they aim for All-Star consideration. 💪

4. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (Down 1)

Starting Lineup:

  • LT Stanley Bryant
  • LG Gabe Wallace
  • C Chris Kolankowski
  • RG Patrick Neufekd
  • RT Kendall Randolph

Despite facing the same opponent in consecutive weeks, the Bombers couldn’t replicate their previous performance. They started strong with a 70.9 unit pass-blocking grade but fell to 58.5, allowing pressure on 30.8% of dropbacks in Week 3.

On a positive note, left guard Gabe Wallace delivered an exceptional performance, achieving an impressive 84.5 pass-blocking grade, the highest among his teammates. 🌟

5. Edmonton Elks (Up 2)

Starting Lineup:

  • LT Martez Ivey
  • LG Mark Korte
  • C David Beard
  • RG Gregor Mackellar
  • RT Brett Boyko

The Elks made a notable resurgence in their run-blocking, achieving a high score of 75.2 — the second-highest of the season. However, their struggles in pass protection continued, resulting in a grade of just 48.9.

Left guard Mark Korte has consistently performed well despite transitioning positions this offseason. His overall grade of 70.7 shows he is on track for consideration in the CFL West All-Star selections. 🚀

6. British Columbia Lions (Down 1)

Starting Lineup:

  • LT Jarell Broxton
  • LG Kory Woodruff
  • C Michael Couture
  • RG Tyler Packer
  • RT Dejon Allen

The Lions’ offensive line underperformed once again in Week 3, with an overall grade of 58.1. Run blocking was slightly better at 61.7, while pass protection fell short at 56.9. A significant concern is the status of right tackle Dejon Allen, who exited the game due to a shoulder injury.

However, left tackle Jarell Broxton has continued to shine, currently ranking as the second-highest-graded tackle in the West Division. If he maintains this level of play, the future looks bright for him! 🌈

7. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (Down 1)

Starting Lineup:

  • LT Brendan Bordner
  • LG Brandon Revenberg
  • C Coulter Woodmansey
  • RG Liam Dobson
  • RT Quinton Barrow

The Tiger-Cats fall in rank primarily due to the strong showing of the Elks, even without a game in Week 3.

8. Ottawa Redblacks (Up 1)

Starting Lineup:

  • LT Dino Boyd
  • LG Drew Desjarlais
  • C Jacob Ruby
  • RG Dariusz Bladek
  • RT Darta Lee

The Redblacks' offensive line climbed in the rankings, achieving their first overall grade over 60.0 with a score of 63.2 in Week 3. With improvements in both run (62.2) and pass blocking (59.3), they are on the rise!

Left tackle Dino Boyd has been a standout, leading East Division tackles with a 67.8 grade. His continued excellence could pave the way for an All-Star nod. ❤️

9. Toronto Argonauts (Down 1)

Starting Lineup:

The defending Grey Cup champions are struggling significantly. Week 3 marked a season low for their pass-blocking, posting a dismal 12.1 grade while allowing an alarming 53.8% pressure rate.

Rookie right tackle Hampton Ergle was given his first start. Unfortunately, he earned a disappointing overall grade of 27.8, with a 0.0 pass-blocking score after surrendering 11 pressures.

Despite this chaos, center Peter Nicastro has been a shining light. His consistent play through three weeks earns him a respectable grade of 67.2, keeping him in the conversation for an East Division All-Star selection. 🌟

The battle in the trenches is fierce, and teams are striving to refine their performances as the season progresses. Each week brings new challenges and opportunities to shine, and the upcoming weeks promise to bring even more excitement! Stay tuned for more updates on the CFL!
